Greyhound ratings analyst Peter Walker runs the rule over Saturday’s runners competing in the Irish Greyhound Derby First Round heats.
The rest of the first-round heats held on Saturday have been completed and rated below. Although it’s at an early stage with many greyhounds not trialled or raced over the track and distance at Shelbourne Park, most enthusiasts like to have an early flutter, and I’m no different. My selection from the more fancied runners is Bombay Pat (12/1) who ticks all the boxes for me. Another tempted option based on the latest ante post prices is Untold Dollar (33/1) who represents a bit more value. I’ve also just had a small each-way bet on Rushy Meadows (100/1). She is a very lightly raced precocious talent, and armed with a new ‘sat-nav’, will hopefully cope with the contours of the Dublin track much better than Towcester. Whatever your choice, we hope all come back home safe and sound at the end of the day in this fantastic sporting spectacle.
