English Greyhound Derby 2024 – Quarter Final Ratings (Saturday) with Greyhound Rating Analyst Peter Walker

Ratings analysis for Saturday’s quarter finals of the English Greyhound Derby 2024 by Greyhound Rating Analyst Peter Walker

2024 GREYHOUND DERBY QUARTERFINALS

If you managed to attend the track last Saturday, there were some brilliant performances by canine athletes doing what they are bred and love to do at Towcester. The cream is certainly rising to the top. We lost Clonbrien Treaty, Antigua Hawk as well as Newinn Syd in the quality stacked penultimate heat. The draw becomes even more crucial as we are down to the last 24 qualifiers. The random draw has produced a disproportionate outcome once again. The first and third quarterfinals include four and three previous round winners respectively. Even so, there are no walkovers at this stage of the competition.

I have included a summary as before. The top six has seen a shift with De Lahdedah now rightfully challenging for the top of the tree based on his last three performances. Most of the other main contenders have consolidated their positions at the head of affairs. The relatively unfancied Hawkfield Blue now comes into the fray of the latest top six rated along with The Other Kobe. They are both drawn in the same race for the third consecutive time, but now without Swords Rex who has unfortunately had to be withdrawn.

The Derby Plate and Greyhoundtrader.com Stakes competitions now begin so all twelve races are packed with the best four bend greyhounds either side of the Irish Sea. Additional ratings to follow as I’m sure they are of interest to all enthusiasts, whether at the track or at home. Good luck to competitors in all three category events.
