Apart from Coppice Ella, the ratings reflected the outcome from both semi-finals at Swindon last Thursday. She was unlucky to come off worst following scrimmaging around the opening bend in the second semi-final, and even Union Rebel had to settle for the runners-up spot behind Romeo Crusade. The first semi-final was more predictable with the favourite Southfield Poppy successful in a five-runner race after Romeo Jackson was withdrawn lame prior to the race.

The final consists of four railers and two middle seeds. Keefill Goose representing Phil Milner is drawn in trap 1 following his strong finish behind Southfield Poppy, but may need to break quicker if he is to gain an advantage from this position. Romeo Cypher has yet to win in this competition but has a 3.93 split in his locker from trap 2, so will attempt to lead from the front if repeating this feat. His litter brother Romeo Crusade has improved throughout the event and is now top-rated as highlighted in the chart. Southfield Poppy is very consistent out of the boxes but would probably prefer been drawn closer to the rail. Union Rebel, an earlier selection, has probably fared best of all in the draw. Any jostling on the inside could benefit him coming out of trap 5, providing he gets a clear passage early on in the race. Southfield Petal was flagged up as a live outsider and has done well to reach the final. She would most likely need to produce a career best ever time at the track to win but is capable of causing a surprise if the principles get held up.
