GBGB CEO reaches out in response to open letter (updated)

We are very pleased to get such a quick response from the GBGB and look forward to a meeting between them and a representative group from those who signed, where we will have the opportunity to discuss in detail the points raised in the letter.

In less than 24 hours the letter received nearly 450 signatures, made up of trainers, assistant trainers, kennel staff, owners and others who love greyhound racing. The signatures ranged from some of the biggest names in the sport to former owners who have become disillusioned with the direction of travel.

Unfortunately we have had to close the page down because a couple of people saw fit to use what was a great opportunity to show unity among the sport’s stakeholders as a means to pursue personal grudges.

The list of signatories has been preserved.

However, the letter has achieved its purpose and we look forward to a constructive conversation with the GBGB, and hopefully achieving some consensus on the way forward for an industry that urgently needs fresh thinking if it is to survive and grow.
