Seamus Cahill has secured the inaugural Greyhound Weekly Graded Trainer championship at Hove today.
Cahill had 332 winners from 1811 runners with a win rate of 18.3 percent, earning him a 61 point bonus. A final points tally of 393 points was enough to see off the challenge of Stuart Maplesden, who finished runner-up with 342 points, amassing 288 wins over the year.
Jason Heath finished with 264 winners and a bonus of 46 for a total of 310 points, to pip Belinda Green by just 2 points for third.
Among Cahill’s standout graded performers this year were Pocket Baba (11 wins), Sharp Bobby (10 wins), Bunny Trail (9 wins), and Whatever (10 wins).
A double at Saturday’s meeting ended the year nicely for Cahill with wins for Sharp Bobby, and Coonough Paddy.
June Harvey secured the inaugural Hove Greyhound Weekly Win Rate championship with a success rate of 22.1 percent. Derek Knight took second on 21.5 with Alfie Herbert earning third place with a strike rate of 20.8.
